How you can make it more effective is by putting a drop or two where you were bitten or stung and rub it in until it is absorbed or evaporates. Rub it up and down then left and right. This technique speeds up the break-down of the acidic, protein venom into the atom-sized components. The more pain you have, the stronger the venom. How Bug Bite Sting Relief was discovered
My wife and I were in the habit of a nice, afternoon walk. One particular day, we decided to drive over to the Guadalupe River to walk a beautiful, meandering path that included some of our graceful hills in our incomparable Texas Hill Country. We hadn't gone very far when my wife swatted at something buzzing her head. That turned out to be a hornet and, yep, it stung her good! We made a bee-line (pardon the pun) to the car where we had a vinegar bite "remedy" (worthless). In agony still, then we rushed home for another commercially sold sting "remedy" (also worthless).
Then came the DIY home remedies. We tried half a dozen old-time, never-fail, fixes all, cures. By now, her finger was swollen to half the size of her hand. She had constant throbbing.
